The assignment above is intended to be formative and builds off of the topics we have been exploring in class. We have been examining the role of art in politics and society. We chose symbols that we believe represent the U.S (bald eagle, flag, Mt. Rushmore, Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, statue of liberty, liberty bell, etc.) and asked ourselves the following question: What is the narrative created by symbols representing the United States?
