Reflexes make our bodies react in a certain way to a certain signal. The body reacts in the same way every time the signal is given. A Russian scientist called Pavlov did a famous experiment using dogs. Since dogs secrete saliva when they see food as a natural reflex or response, he did the following experiment to find if they respond in the same manner to other signals.
What can be concluded on the basis of the experiment?
A All reflexes are inborn, an animal cannot be trained to have new reflexes.
B An animal can be made to learn certain reflexes under certain conditions.
C Reflexes are seen in response to only food items and sounds in animals.
D Reflexes are seen in response to only particular sounds in animals.
